Shutting down sexist remarks from a so-called Christian

That was the US Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai shutting those incredibly insulting, sexist, and misogynistic remarks by House Republican Greg Murphy from North Carolina. He calls himself a Christian.

This is why the phrase "There really is no hate like that Christian 'love'" exists. People like him prove it over and over again.

Greg here, just like almost all Republican men when they’re in the room with a woman who’s much more intelligent and capable than they are, thought he would hurl insults at her to make sure she "stays in her place." Men like him cannot stand successful women.

The evangelical belief system sees women as "helpers" and never leaders. Evangelicals and conservative Christians believe a woman's place is "in the home birthing babies." This attitude bleeds out into every single place evangelical men go- the workplace, out in public, any government positions they occupy, and so on. They absolutely hate women who are successful in their careers.

And men who tend to engage in that kind of behavior tend to be overcompensating for their own… shortcomings. They feel threatened by women’s success. One of the ways someone with low self-esteem tries to elevate themselves is by attempting to bring people down, especially people they see as "less than" who are more capable than they are.

That's pretty much Evangelical Republican men’s motto. Oh, and by the way, just to tell you a little more about his character, Greg here is so incredibly obtuse that he can’t seem to understand the internet is forever. There’s a list of his deleted tweets (and not just his, but other people's as well), and this is one of them he tweeted and then deleted after Roe v Wade was overturned.

Deleted Tweet from North Carolina Republican Greg Murphy

Really Greg? Really? He just gaslights all survivors of rape and sexual assault? How Christian of him (said in the most sarcastic tone we can muster.) And yet he has the audacity to think he has superior "Christian" morals.

Katherine Tai, on the other hand, is an incredible accomplished member of Biden’s Cabinet as the principal trade advisor, negotiator, and spokesperson on US trade policy.

Her degrees are from Yale and Harvard. And she has negotiated some of the strongest labor, environmental, and enforcement provisions in US history. She is an incredibly capable negotiator on behalf of the United States trade interests. Such successful women don't become successful by being a pushover, and Katherine Tai is no exception. Women have to fight for success every step of the way.

As a woman-owned small business here at A Blue Dot in a Red State, we can't say loudly enough: Don't ever underestimate women. We can turn our nice off just as quickly as we turned it on.
