Christian Hypocrisy

A Black man standing outside on rocky ground wearing a black unisex t-shirt that says, "BE A KIND HUMAN." in a clean, sans-serif, narrow font. There are snow-capped mountains behind him.

In a world increasingly divided by hate and intolerance, one thing remains clear: kindness should never be a partisan issue. Yet, here we are, witnessing a troubling trend where Republican religious extremists are weaponizing their faith to sow seeds of division, intolerance, and hate. It's as frustrating as it is bewildering.

Let's set the record straight. The very figure these extremists claim to worship, Jesus Christ, preached a message centered on kindness, compassion, empathy, and love. It's a stark irony that seems lost on those who cherry-pick their scripture to justify their bigotry. Instead of embodying the teachings of love and understanding, they've opted for a distorted version of Christianity that serves as a cloak for their hatred.

Jesus's message transcended qualifiers; it was one of unconditional love and acceptance. He didn't say, "Love your neighbor, unless they're gay," or "Turn the other cheek, unless they're Black," or "Withold healthcare and food from the poor," for example. No, Jesus always, without fail, stood on the side of the marginalized and oppressed, never aligning himself with those who weaponized religious laws for intolerance. He was a champion for the outcasts, the poor, the prostitutes—everyone despised by the religious rulers of his time.

Conservative Christians, particularly evangelicals, conveniently overlook this truth because it doesn't align with their agenda of control and punishment towards those they hate.

We're living in a time when love and kindness are desperately needed, yet so-called Christians, especially evangelicals, are actively working against these virtues in the name of their beliefs. We can't stand idly by while Republicans twist their faith to justify discrimination and inequality. Denying people equal rights based on religious beliefs isn't piety—it's plain old bigotry dressed up in holy robes.

But fear not, for love and kindness will always triumph over hate and intolerance. It's a timeless truth that transcends political affiliations and religious doctrines. And it's this truth that we choose to embrace wholeheartedly.

That's why we're excited to introduce our new line of merchandise: "Be a Kind Human." These t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, mugs, and tote bags serve as a reminder that regardless of our backgrounds or beliefs, kindness is a universal language. It's a call to action for all those who believe in empathy, compassion, and understanding.
