They're desperately trying to distract us

That was Senator Mullen in Oklahoma, a Trump loyalist and election denier. He admitted outloud and on record that they don't want reality. They do not want educated kids, because educated kids learn to think critically. And people who think critically can see straight through Republicans’ racist, authoritarian, christofascist narrative. Republicans HATE the separation of church and state and are working to abolish it.

I've been talking about this for years, but it often feels like I'm screaming into the void. Republicans have no policies that help actual, working Americans. None. Zero. Their policies work to make the rich richer and the poor more poor. Reagan’s “trickle down” is a lie, and Republican leaders have always known that. The Republican voters, however, gulped down that propaganda.

"Trickle down," tax breaks for the wealthy, and then Trump's tax breaks heaped on top of that created the largest upward transfer of wealth in history. This means that the poor and middle class' money is being transferred upward to the rich. The top 1% has taken 50 trillion dollars from the bottom 90% over the past 40 years.

50 trillion dollars. That’s how much money we, the middle class and those in poverty, have lost. It went to the rich, making them richer while making the middle class and the poor more poor. That's because we're the ones paying the deficit for the wealthy's tax breaks.

The middle class is shrinking and one of many reasons is because millionaires and billionaires are taking our money, making us more poor.

The Republicans are desperate to distract you from this. As they create more and more policies to continue transferring our money to millionaires and billionaires, they manufacture outrage by riling their base up into a raging frenzy with culture wars. They want to keep their base angry and focused on anything other than how we’re all being fucking robbed blind as well as how they're helping their fascist cronies get elected into office.

Make no mistake, this is unsustainable.

And that video you just watched has Senator Mullin dramatically raging over a book. Which that book is true, by the way! All those years ago, white people literally invented the concept of race. They did so in order to sow the idea of racism to generate contempt, disdain, and hate for people of color.

They "othered" those people. They spread propaganda that white people were smarter, prettier, cleaner, etc. than people of color... and this was done in order to have an excuse to enslave people who they deemed being an "inferior" race, especially Black people. They did this so they could have an excuse to enslave them.

And Mullin is using the book to manipulate the Republican base by using his fake outrage to get them to focus on literally anything but this dystopian reality we’re living in where we're transferring all our money to the rich while fascist state governments are being installed right under our noses. And it’s not just this book that they’re creating manufactured outrage over. It’s all books about racism and queer people and history, and then more distractions in the form of raging about trans people, gay rights, abortion, immigrants, the border… I could go on and on.

And this is why they don't want educated people. This is why they are fervently working to dismantle public education as well as higher education. The ignorant are easier to manipulate and control.
